CLAMPING HEADS OF THE SERIES SPH
Berg clamping head SPH is used in machining centres for horizontal pallet clamping.
Berg clamping head SPH – Application
Clamping heads of the series SPH principally find use in machining centres for horizontal pallet clamping. Also, with these clamping heads and the attendant taper rings it is possible to achieve maximum repeating accuracy of the clamping position. In addition to machining centre turntables, the Berg clamping head SPH also finds use on individual set-up places.
The shape and positioning accuracy of the clamping cones also guarantee maximum pallet change repeating accuracy. The cone surfaces have a surface hardness greater than 60 HRC and special depth of hardness which is resistant to any kind of contamination. The clamping bolt screws into the pallet with the taper ring. Clamping segments pulls it onto the clamping head by a hydraulic cylinder acting on both sides. An air jet with optimal air guidance keeps the clamping cones clean during pallet changing. These channels can also be used as coolant lubricant channels for rinsing out the clamping heads. The design of the clamping heads are economical with a larger tolerance and without lift-out stroke or as support heads only. Modified models, for example without stopper or with air operated position control on request.
