Your chuck needs reconditioning if there is:

1. FRETTING / CORROSION in the chuck body, base jaws, body slots or wedge.
2. Excess jaw play.
3. Loss of gripping force.
4. Wear and tear in the sliding areas.
5. Breakages / damages in the chuck.

The above chuck body, wedge and base jaws with fretting and corrosion which heads to loss of gripping force and accuracy. In such cases the chuck can be reconditioned to 'good as new' and gripping force and accuracy can be restored to optimum levels.
