Acquired in 1976, GMT manufactures a range of threading attachments for centre lathes, tool holders and carbide inserts for threading.

ATTACHMENTS – This threading attachment can be mounted on any ordinary centre lathe for internal and external threading. The lathe spindle will automatically forward and reverse at the beginning and end of threading length. Since this operation is automatic, threading can be done at a much higher RPM and so tungsten carbide threading inserts can be used.

THREADING TOOL HOLDERS – These are manufactured for both internal and external threading in RH and LH versions and can be used on all CNC turning centres and centre lathes. On internal threading tool holders, threading can be done from 13.0mm diameter onwards.

THREADING INSERTS – Threading inserts are manufactured in various profiles as per ISO Metric, Whitworth, UN, API, API RD, ACME, STUBACME and trapezoidal specifications. Inserts are available for both right hand and left hand internal and external threading. Coated inserts are available in TIN and TIALN grades.
